We are offering student discounts to current JJC Culinary Arts students on all of our kitchen packages. We know firsthand how expensive college can be, and we’d like to help out! In this hands-on brunch class, we will be learning how to make:
We’ll also be learning some basic knife skills, sanitation (no fingers in noses please!) and hopefully making some great new friends!

Come to the Hive and learn the basics about home canning and Preserving from Drusilla Banks, the University Of Illinois Nutrition and Wellness Extension Educator. A presentation will be given on both water bath canning and pressure canning. Learn how to preserve the fruits and veggies from your summer garden to enjoy in the winter, or how you can make a profit from the excess produce you’ve grown!
We have space for 25 attendees to join us on Monday, August 20th from 9:30am-12:30pm. Tickets are $12.61 (includes eventbrite processing fee) and you can get yours by clicking here and using the password “canning”.
